Use this directory to find the probation or community-supervision office that handles your case in Minnesota. Who supervises you depends on two things: which county your case is in, and whether your offense is a felony or a misdemeanor/gross misdemeanor. In many counties those are two different offices — felony supervision is often handled by the Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC), while misdemeanor, gross-misdemeanor, and juvenile cases are handled by the county's own court services or community corrections department. This page lists both, county by county, with verified addresses and phone numbers.
Last verified June 2026. Probation office locations, phone numbers, and staff assignments change frequently. Always call to confirm the correct office and your assigned agent before relying on any contact information here — especially if you have a reporting deadline. If you don't know who your probation officer is, the main county number listed for your county can route you.

How Supervision Works in Minnesota
Minnesota delivers community supervision through three systems, which is why the right office differs by county:
- CCA (Community Corrections Act) counties run all supervision themselves — felony, gross misdemeanor, misdemeanor, and juvenile. One county department handles everything. Most metro and larger counties are CCA.
- CPO (County Probation Officer) counties split the work: the county supervises misdemeanor, gross-misdemeanor, and juvenile cases, while the DOC supervises adult felonies. For these counties, two contacts are listed.
- DOC Field Services counties have the DOC supervise felonies, with the county handling lower-level and juvenile matters.
If your case is a felony in a CPO or DOC-supervised county, you'll report to the DOC office. If it's a misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor, you'll report to the county. When in doubt, call the county's main number and they'll direct you.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find out who my probation officer is in Minnesota?
Call the main number for the county where your case is being handled (listed above). If you were convicted of a felony, you may be supervised by the Minnesota Department of Corrections rather than the county — the county office can tell you which applies and route you to the right place.
Why are there two different probation offices listed for some counties?
Many Minnesota counties split supervision by offense level. The county's own court services or community corrections department supervises misdemeanor, gross-misdemeanor, and juvenile cases, while the Department of Corrections supervises adult felonies. Larger "Community Corrections Act" counties handle all levels in a single department.
Does the felony or misdemeanor lookback affect which office supervises me?
No — that's a separate issue. The office that supervises you depends on your current offense level and your county. Lookback periods affect how prior offenses enhance a new charge or your license consequences, not which probation office you report to.
What if the phone number or address here is wrong?
Contact information for probation offices changes often — offices relocate, numbers get reassigned, and counties periodically restructure supervision. This directory was verified in June 2026, but you should always call to confirm before relying on it, particularly if you have a reporting deadline.
Is my county not listed?
This directory covers 40 of Minnesota's 87 counties, focused on the metro and the most populous regional counties. If your county isn't here, the Minnesota Department of Corrections maintains a statewide Community Services Directory, or you can call your county courthouse, which can direct you to the correct supervision office.
